I was born in Japan and moved to Vienna in my teens to study dance and music. There, I first encountered the works of Austrian painters such as Klimt, Schiele and Kokoschka that left a profound impression on me. Later I studied Art History and Visual Arts in Paris and New York. Maybe because I grew up on a small island, I enjoy travel to explore different cultures and landscapes and have journeyed extensively throughout Europe, Russia and Asia.

I have always aspired to express myself artistically through different genres and am happiest when I am creating something new. The simple and pure joy of creation is the essential motive of my art. I enjoy the freedom of exploring different mediums; oil on canvas, gouache on paper and digital photography. The common characteristics in my artwork are the exuberant use of vibrant colors and geometric forms, which create playful images with surreal impressions.

I live in New York City and have exhibited my work there since 2001, mainly at Walter Wickiser Gallery. Some of my works are in private collections in Tokyo, Japan and NY, USA.
