Modern Samurai: Hide Kawabata |
|
 |
| |
I always create my art like a Samurai in the heat of an intense battle, communicating my passion with energy, through extremely hot magma, somewhat like an erupting volcano. |

Fire Dragon was painted to depict a mind of flames, of anger, to burn out all evil fueled by my vast array of emotions. It illustrates a vigorous cluster of vital energy, reminiscent of an intense blazing fire. Unlike what I do in my other works, Fire Dragon was done without putting much thought into the colors or compositions or the balance of the painting. |

Moonlight Sea depicts the magnificent night sea, full of mysterious lives and illuminated by the moonlight. Countless planktons express the joy of life in the painting. The deep-sea fishes bring the piece to life, leaving one reflecting on their own existence. |

Two Buddhas is all encompassing, depicting the soul of the savior and the saved, good and evil, a saint and sinner, all elements within mortal man.

In each piece of work, the dominant color red is the color of human blood. I painted them as if to grind my flesh and bones and soul to make a fusion against the canvas.
