I get bored easily. I am also lazy as well as a world class procrastinator. Now! When I paint I want to execute my decisions quickly. If a suggestion to do something on a painting doesn't come to me promptly, I move on to something else. All the while I keep looking at this painting. At sometime during a painting session I will look over to this painting, have an aha experience, pick up the painting and execute the aha. This is how I work.
To talk or write about my work always leaves me stranded between my memory of the painting process and what the work itself presents to me as a viewer. Since I work on more than one project at the same time, discussion can become mazed.
This Project: I am determined to find a way to use concepts of minimalism and attach them to my painting. My past is cluttered with failed attempts. The failures - I eventually fall into a trap using minimalism like everybody else. What am I looking for? I dunno! I'll let you know when I find it!
I have an idea of what a marriage between minimalism and my approach to abstract expressionism should be. This selection of 10 paintings and 4 computer manipulated digital images are samples of my research. None of these images define my dream.
